Wall mirrors
Wall mirrors come in many different styles, from traditional
to contemporary to futuristic. In addition to that, they also come in
many different sizes. The great variation in mirror types allows for
a great variation of decorative uses.
Smaller wall mirrors are excellent for breaking up the space in a room.
A smaller mirror with an ornate frame can serve as an excellent focal
point. At the same time, a mirror with no frame can simply be used as
a reflective surface to capture aspects of the other side of the room,
especially color, which serves to tie together the full harmony of the
room. Multiple small mirrors can work together to create addition rhythm
within a room.
Larger wall mirrors have their own advantages. Perhaps the greatest
of these is their ability to open up a room by giving the illusion of
more space. This sort of effect can be enhanced by placing two large
mirrors parallel to each other. For some people, filling up a full wall
with a mirror is an easy way to deal with only decorating one half of
the room. This can be a useful trick, or it can feel too redundant.
Placing curtains around the mirror is a way to subconsciously remind
visitors that it is really a two-dimensional surface.
